Burning of the Oesophagus leading to scaring. Symtoms akin to Hiatus Hernia, Very painful and distressing. 'Lump in throat'.
LYMPHOEDEMA.
Swelling of arm on affected side often accompanied by intense pain and restricted movement. Can lead to infection and Cellulitis.

A quote from 'management of adverse effects following Breast Radiotherapy' published by the Royal College of Radiologists in collaboration with R.A.G.E.
A futher publication, also a joint effort, is 'Brachial Plexus Neuropathy following Radiotherapy for Breast Carcinoma'. This document confirms the reality of cirtain adverse effects and suggests the possible reasons - too higher dose of radiation, method of delivery and individual sensertivity are mentioned. The document makes recommendations for improvements in the future. Both of these publications were as a result of pressure on the Department of Health by R.A.G.E. members.
